Tree Planting on 22 May 2012
- Another Tree Planting project at Sg.Lokan, Kinabatangan on 22 May 2012 which coincides with World Biodiversity Day 2012.
– This time, 56 participants from local tour operators (Uncle Tan Wildlife Adventure S/B, Sepilok Tropical Wildlife Adventure S/B, North Borneo Safari S/B, Proboscis Lodge Bukit Melapi, The Last Frontier, Nasalis Larvatus Tours S/B amp; Sukau Rainforest Lodge), Pejabat UPKO N47 Kuamut amp; Jawatankuasa Keselamatan dalam Kampung (JKK).
– About half of the praticipants was met amp; greeted at Pengkalan Bukit Garam by the staffs of Uncle Tan Wildlife Adventure (as the host) and the rest of the group (JKK) were already at their camp which is located 45 mins by boat. Welcome speech amp; briefing was done by Mr Johnny Lim (The Secretary of KiTA) after breakfast at their camp. Transfer by boat to Sg.Lokan (the planting site) and planted 300 trees such as Malutus, Simpur, Bayur amp; Bongkol. Their leaves are foods for the macaques, Proboscis monkeys amp; birds. Group photo was taken after the activity. Return to Uncle Tan’s Camp for lunch. Programme finished around 2p.m.
