Launched Recycling House. Conducted Recycle & Composting Program.
One of our environmental awareness program, KiTA has handed over the Recycling House (Rubbish House) to the Jawatankuasa Kemajuan Dan Keselamatan Kampung (JKKK) Kampung Bilit on 25th March 2016, held in Kampung Bilit Hall Kinabatangan.
The event was witnessed by Kinabatangan District Officer, Yassin bin Nasir and a representative from Kinabatangan Council, Mohd. Raqib bin Kamal.
The Recycle House was completed in September 2015 and KiTA hopes that after handing over to the JKKK Kg. Bilit, they can work together with the villagers and be responsible to it.
Since March last year, we have conducted Recycle and Composting Program in collaboration with an NGO, To Earth With Love, to educate the villagers of Kampung Bilit on how to recycle organic waste and to compost.
A follow up session has started a day before the lauched of recycle house and it just ended yesterday. The next sessions will be in July and November 2016.
With this program, KiTA plans to make Kampung Bilit a role model for other villages to participate in the state-level competition on cleanliness hoping that the residents can help preserve the environment through recycling.
