KiTA Initiates RM180,000 Security Post In Abai Village

HISTORY OF SECURITY POST IN ABAI
In the early year of 2014, KiTA have tried to establish and build a security post in Kampung Abai, Kinabatangan to increase security surveillance along the Kinabatangan River. The Association and ESCCOM been trying to get the land with the consent of the Head of Abai Village and Chairman of JKKK Abai Village to justify the construction of a post on the site. After getting approval from the Department of Lands and Forestry Department, construction began in early November 2014 and was completed in the end of December 2014.

The handing over ceremony was held on 14th April 2015. The post was handed over to Sabah PGA commander, SAC Kamarul Bahrin Mohamad witnessed by Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM) commander, DCP Datu Abdul Rashid Harun.

The post cost is RM 180,000 and the fund was generated from RM10 Conservation Levy on each tourist who stayed at KiTA members’ resorts since 2009.
